Residence

The clients live in a semi-detached century home and wanted to do a full renovation on their kitchen which had a direct connection to their backyard and detached garage. The kitchen also serves as a mudroom area for coats and boots and so the key to the success of the design was doing this without making it feel more like a mudroom. Incorporating both elements and functions was the biggest design problem. The kitchen was very small already and there was no space in the remainder of the floor area to steal from, so maximizing the use of the space was the key to success of this project. This was done by carefully planning the functions of the kitchen cabinetry and equipment to ensure efficiency was maximized.

The clients loved the transitional style and the design is a reflection of this.
